Internet Use Policy
The school district and Nathan Hale High School permit the use of the Internet as a tool for research and education. The Internet, like any other school property, must be used for the purpose of which it was intended. Students are expected to follow a few basic rules of courtesy and common sense while accessing this tool, so that the Internet can be a valuable source of information for all students.
Students must have a permission slip signed by a parent/guardian on file with the school in order to use the Internet.
Student Use of the Library Media Center (LMC) During Study Hall
- Students who wish to use the library media center outside of class time may do so before school or with a pass during study hall, during Freshmen Academic Enrichment, or during lunch.
- The LMC is available to study hall students who need to use the materials and equipment located there, or who desire an alternative location for quiet study. In order to maintain an atmosphere conducive to study, group study and socializing are not permitted. At times, seating may be limited due to use of the facility by other classes.
- Any study hall student wishing to use the LMC is expected to arrive before the final passing bell, sign in, and remain there for the entire period. The student does not need to report to study hall first because copies of the sign-in sheets will be delivered to the study hall supervisor(s) to inform them which students are in the LMC.
- A student who does not have legitimate reasons to use the LMC for the entire period should not sign in. Rather, that student should report to the study hall at the beginning of the period and request to use a pass for 5-10 minutes to return or check out materials.
- Library privileges will be restricted for any student failing to exhibit appropriate behavior in the library.
